South Bontang (, ) is a district of the Bontang, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. As of 2024, it was inhabited by 71,167 people, and currently has a total area of 110.91 km<sup>2</sup>. Its district seat is located at the village of Tanjung Laut.
The district was separated on 1 December 1989 from the former district of Bontang. South Bontang shares borders with West Bontang and North Bontang to the north, Teluk Pandan to the west, and Marang Kayu to the south.
