Krishna Nand Tripathi (born 1977) is an Indian politician and a senior leader of the Indian National Congress from Jharkhand. He represented the Daltonganj Assembly constituency in Palamu district in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly from 2009 to 2014. He also served as a Cabinet Minister in the Jharkhand Government, overseeing rural development and other key portfolios.
Tripathi is from Daltonganj, Palamu district. Before embarking on his political journey, he served in the Indian Air Force (IAF), showcasing a background of disciplined service to the nation. He completed his graduation in law in 2001 at the Faculty of Law, Delhi University, Delhi.
Tripathi first won as an MLA in the 2009 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly election from Daltonganj Assembly constituency representing Indian National Congress. He polled 43,571 votes and defeated his nearest rival, Dileep Singh Namdhari, of Bharatiya Janata Party by a margin of 4,233 votes. During his tenure, he was appointed as a Cabinet Minister in the state government.
He contested in the 2019 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly election representing Indian National Congress but lost to Alok Kumar Chaurasiya. He also contested the 2024 Indian general election in Jharkhand from Chatra Lok Sabha constituency on Congress ticket but lost to Kalicharan Singh of Bharatiya Janata Party. In the late 2024 assembly elections, he demonstrated strong local support by crossing the 1 lakh votes mark in Daltonganj.
