Gundlapochampally is a residential neighbourhood located on the northern side of Hyderabad in the MedchalâÂÂMalkajgiri district of Telangana, India. It is part of the city of Hyderabad and lies within the Hyderabad Metropolitan Region. The area is strategically situated along National Highway 44 (NH-44) and is in close proximity to the Nehru Outer Ring Road (ORR), providing excellent connectivity to major parts of the city and surrounding suburbs. Gundlapochampally now falls under the jurisdiction of the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation following the 2026 reorganisation of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
Gundlapochampally lies in Medchal Mandal of MedchalâÂÂMalkajgiri district and is located in the periphery of the Hyderabad metropolitan area. It is connected by regional roads to other parts of Hyderabad and neighbouring districts.
Gundlapochampally Municipality was constituted on 2 August 2018 by the Government of Telangana by merging neighbouring gram panchayats including Gundlapochampally, Kandlakoya, Baseregadi, Gnanapur, and Arkelaguda to form a single urban local body under the provisions of the Telangana Municipal Act.
In November 2025, the Government of Telangana approved the merger of 27 urban local bodies, including Gundlapochampally Municipality, into the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to unify the administration of urban areas within and surrounding the Outer Ring Road (ORR). This decision was notified through Department, dated 3 December 2025, and took effect in December 2025.
After the merger, GHMC was reorganised to include 300 wards spread over expanded boundaries. Under the new structure, Gundlapochampally became part of the GHMC administrative framework, typically within the Quthbullapur Zone as Ward 299.
In a series of Government Orders issued on 11 February 2026, the Government of Telangana reorganised the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) into three separate municipal corporations â the reconstituted GHMC, the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC), and the Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) â as part of an administrative decentralisation initiative. Under this reorganisation, the Quthbullapur Zone, including Gundlapochampally (Ward No. 299 under Medchal Circle), was placed under the jurisdiction of the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation.

Many of these developers are incorporated companies or LLPs registered with the Registrar of Companies, Telangana.
Gundlapochampally has developed as part of the industrial and employment landscape in the MedchalâÂÂMalkajgiri district of Telangana, India, particularly in textiles, information technology and life sciences.
Gundlapochampally is home to the Apparel Export Park, an industrial estate established under the Apparel Park for Export Scheme on approximately 173 acres of land, administered by the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC). The park hosts garment manufacturing and export-oriented units and provides employment opportunities for the local population, particularly in the textile sector.
Under the Government of TelanganaâÂÂs Growth in Dispersion (GRID) policy, Gundlapochampally is included within the northern IT corridor of the Hyderabad metropolitan region. The area lies near the planned Gateway IT Park at Kandlakoya, a proposed 14-storey information technology business park intended to accommodate IT companies and create employment opportunities.
Gundlapochampally is a residential and logistical satellite for Genome Valley, one of IndiaâÂÂs major life sciences and biotechnology clusters located in the MedchalâÂÂMalkajgiri district. Genome Valley hosts numerous pharmaceutical, biotechnology and research organisations.
