Polonium tetrabromide

Polonium tetrabromide, is a bromide of polonium, with the chemical formula PoBr<sub>4</sub>.

Preparation

Polonium tetrabromide can be formed by the direct reaction of bromine and polonium at 200&nbsp;°C to 250&nbsp;°C.

Like polonium tetraiodide, polonium tetrabromide can also be produced by the reaction of polonium dioxide and hydrogen bromide:

Properties

Polonium tetrabromide is a light red solid that is easily deliquescent. It crystallizes in the cubic crystal system, with space group Fm'm (No. 225) and lattice parameter a = 5.6 Å.
