Butanserin (; developmental code name R-53393) is a serotonin 5-HT<sub>2</sub> receptor antagonist and ñ<sub>1</sub>-adrenergic receptor antagonist which was studied as an antihypertensive agent but was never marketed. It was first described in the scientific literature by 1984.
