The three substrates of this enzyme are artemisinic aldehyde, reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH), and a proton. Its products are (11R)-dihydroartemisinic aldehyde and oxidised NADP<sup>+</sup>. This enzyme is present in Artemisia annua.
