The 25th Constitutional Government of Portugal () is the current cabinet of the Portuguese government, led by Prime Minister LuÃÂs Montenegro. It was sworn in on 5 June 2025.
The government is composed of 16 ministries.
The Portuguese Communist Party (PCP) introduced a motion to reject the new governmentâÂÂs program, but it was defeated in Parliament. Only PCP, BE, and Livre supported the communist motion, while all major parties, including PSD, PS, Chega, IL, and CDS, voted against.
Prime Minister LuÃÂs Montenegro stated the government is now âÂÂlegitimizedâ and ready to focus on solving peopleâÂÂs problems and boosting the economy.
Two days after the 2025 legislative elections, André Ventura, leader of Chega, now the second largest party in Parliament, announced his intention to form a shadow cabinet. On 19 September 2025, Ventura finally announced the names of the Shadow Cabinet, which met for the first time on 15 October 2025.
