Wà Ânsan station () is a railway station located in Yangji-dong, Wà Ânsan city, Kangwà Ân province, North Korea. It is on the Kangwà Ân Line of the Korean State Railway. Locomotive and freight car maintenance facilities are located here.
The first station in Wà Ânsan, along with the rest of the former Kyà Ângwà Ân Line from Seoul to Wà Ânsan, was opened by the Chosen Government Railway (Sentetsu) on 16 August 1914, although the section between Wà Ânsan and Ryongjiwà Ân was completed as early as 21 August 1913. A line from Wà Ânsan north to Kowà Ân and Kà Âmya was built as part of the former Hamgyà Âng Line; the Wà ÂnsanâÂÂKowà Ân section was completed in two parts: Wà ÂnsanâÂÂOkp'yà Âng on 1 August 1915, and Okp'yà ÂngâÂÂKowà ÂnâÂÂKà Âmya on 21 July 1916. The Wà ÂnsanâÂÂKowà Ân section is now part of the Kangwà Ân Line, while the Kowà ÂnâÂÂKà Âmya section is now part of the P'yà Ângra Line.
The original station was a western-style brick structure built in central WÃ Ânsan. Destroyed during the Korean War, it was replaced by a new station in the Yangji-dong neighbourhood on the outskirts of the city; the new station handles only passenger trains, with the freight destined for the city being handled at Kalma station in the industrial Kalma-dong neighbourhood southeast of WÃ Ânsan station.
The original station was rebuilt in 1975 to house the Wà Ânsan Revolutionary Museum, as Kim Il Sung boarded a train here upon his return to Korea after the end of the Second World War. A major attraction of the museum is the steam locomotive Pashini-3 (ãÂÂã·ãÂÂ3), which has been restored to its original condition, including Sentetsu markings, and a former Sentetsu 3rd class coach.
