Wolf is the first studio album by Japanese boy group Wolf Howl Harmony, released on March 12, 2025, through LDH Japan. It contains eleven tracks, including previously released songs. The album was issued in eleven formats, featuring a standard, a live video, a music video, and multiple member-produced editions. On the Billboard Japan Top Albums Sales chart dated March 19, 2025, it ranked fourth with estimated sales of 43,204 copies.
The albumâÂÂs release was announced on September 8, 2024, along with details for an accompanying release event. Its physical formats included the âÂÂLive ver.â and âÂÂMV ver.â editions containing live and music video footage, as well as âÂÂMember Produce ver.â with member-specific covers, and a standard CD edition, totaling eleven versions.
Prior to release, the newly recorded track âÂÂLettersâ was distributed as a surprise pre-release single. The albumâÂÂs lead track âÂÂBakuonâ was first performed on March 7, 2025, at the live event âÂÂOnewâÂÂs Spring Song,â with its music video uploaded the same day as the album launch.
The album title Wolf represents the groupâÂÂs identity as artists delivering âÂÂclassical yet innovative, Tokyo-rooted avant-garde music.â While the concept of using each letter of âÂÂW.O.L.F.â with individual meanings was considered, the members opted for the simpler title to symbolize their current expression and future aspirations.
Member Suzuki described the project as âÂÂa work we can confidently present as the definitive sound of Wolf Howl Harmony.â The track sequencing was developed collaboratively, balancing older material with new recordings. Member Ghee noted that the final arrangement, ending with âÂÂYou & I,â created a cohesive narrative and refreshed the groupâÂÂs familiar songs.
The album includes newly recorded tracks âÂÂLettersâ and âÂÂBakuon,â alongside previously released songs.
âÂÂLettersâ is a reflective song revisiting the groupâÂÂs journey and featuring lyrics by all members, while âÂÂBakuonâ incorporates baile funk elements, channeling their forward-looking energy.
According to Tokyo Headline, the album âÂÂcombines songs the group has cherished over time with tracks signaling the next phase of Wolf Howl Harmony.âÂÂ
Wolf debuted at number four on the Oricon Weekly Albums Chart dated March 24, 2025. It also ranked fourth on the Billboard Japan Top Albums Sales chart (March 19, 2025), selling approximately 43,204 copies in its first week.
