Witold Henryk Szyguà Âa (22 November 1940 â 4 September 2003) was a Polish footballer and manager who played as a goalkeeper.
He signed for Scottish club Hamilton Academical in June 1971, alongside fellow Polish internationals Alfred Olek and Roman Strzaà Âkowski. They were "the first players from behind the Iron Curtain [â¦] to play in Britain." The deal was orchestrated by Hamilton's chairman Jan Stepek, who was himself Polish, in return for electronic goods being sent to Poland. Szyguà Âa also played in Poland for Zagà ÂÃÂbie.
