William Floyd Clipson (December 30, 1920 â June 25, 1996) was an American football and basketball coach. He served as the head football coach at Troy State UniversityâÂÂnow known as Troy UniversityâÂÂin Troy, Alabama from 1955 to 1965, compiling a record of 26âÂÂ68. Clipson was the head basketball coach at Florida Southern College from 1952 to 1955, tallying a mark of 22âÂÂ45. Clipson died on June 25, 1996, at his home in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
