Vrelina (trans. Heat) is the third studio album from Serbian and Yugoslav hard rock band OsvajaÃÂi, released in 2000. It is the only album by the second incarnation of the band, formed and led by the original OsvajaÃÂi guitarist Dragan Uroà ¡eviÃÂ.
OsvajaÃÂi were formed in 1990 by Zvonko Pantovià"ÃÂipi" (vocals), Dragan Uroà ¡evià(guitar), Saà ¡a Popovià(bass guitar) and Mià ¡a Raca (drums), veteran keyboardist Laza Ristovski soon getting involved in the band's activity and becoming an official member. The original lineup released the band's debut album Krv i led (Blood and Ice) in 1991. Their following studio album, Sam (Alone), was recorded with the new keyboardist, Nebojà ¡a JakovljeviÃÂ, and the new bass guitarist, Dejan DaÃÂoviÃÂ, and released in 1995. After the release of the compilation album 1991 â 1995 in 1997, the original incarnation of the band split up.
In 1998, Pantoviàand JakovljeviÃÂ, with guitarist Bane JeliÃÂ, formed the pop rock band OsvajaÃÂi All Stars. Simultaneously, Uroà ¡eviàreformed OsvajaÃÂi, the new lineup featuring Saà ¡a Popovià(who switched from bass to rhythm guitar), Nenad Jovanovià(vocals), Saà ¡a Markovià(bass guitar) and Nenad Brankovià(drums). For a period of time, existence of two bands of the same name, both featuring members from the original incarnation of the group, led to confusion of the public. However, most of the fans and the Serbian music press eventually started to consider Uroà ¡eviÃÂ-led faction of the band as the continuation of the original OsvajaÃÂi activity, as it kept in spirit with the band's original hard rock sound, in contrast to PantoviÃÂ's and JakovljeviÃÂ's faction, which moved from rock towards pop and pop folk sound.
In 1999, Uroà ¡eviÃÂ-led faction released the promo single "Samo ti" ("Only You"), with the ballad "Minut ÃÂutanja" ("A Moment of Silence") as the B-side, announcing their new studio release. The recording of the album Vrelina featured the band's original keyboardist Laza Ristovski as guest musician. The album was co-produced by Uroà ¡eviàand Aleksandar Markoviàand released in 2000. It included the instrumental track "Voz za Jumu" ("") and a cover of Rainbow song "Rainbow Eyes", entitled "Tragovi" ("Traces"). Soon after the album release, the band ended their activity.
All songs written by Dragan Uroà ¡eviÃÂ, except where noted.
