- 1919 â Toledo railway station built.
- 1928 â CD Toledo (football club) formed.
- 1930 â Population: 27,443.
- 1931 â (provincial archives) established.
- 1936 â Siege of the Alcázar.
- 1940 â Historic city area designated a Conjunto histórico (national heritage site).
- 1950 â Population: 40,243.
- 1973 â Estadio Salto del Caballo (stadium) opens.
- 1979 â becomes mayor.
- 1981 â Population: 57,769.
- 1986 â Historic city area designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- 1987 â El DÃÂa de Toledo newspaper begins publication.
- 1998 â Biblioteca de Castilla-La Mancha (library) opens.
