Three-banded rosefinch

The three-banded rosefinch (Carpodacus trifasciatus) is a species of finch in the family Fringillidae.

It is found in central China and far northeastern India. Its natural habitat is temperate forests.

Three-banded rosefinch was discovered for the first time in India in Arunachal Pradesh by scientists from Bombay Natural History Society. This increased the Indian bird species count to 1340.
