The Man with the Donkey is a 1938 Australian radio drama by Harry Paull about John Simpson Kirkpatrick and his donkey during World War One. It aired on the ABC on Anzac Day in 1938.
The play was produced again on the ABC on Anzac Day in 1945 and 1951.
According to the press release the play "re-creates the circumstances of the landing, and pays a clear tribute to âÂÂthe man with the donkeyâ the man who was sometimes called âÂÂScottyâ and sometimes âÂÂMurphy,â though actually he was born in Durham, England."
