Thanh Oai is a rural district (huyá»Ân) of Hanoi in the Red River Delta region of Vietnam.
Thanh Oai district is bordered by Thðá»Âng TÃÂn district to the east, Thanh Trì district to the northeast, Chðáng Mỹ district to the west, Phú Xuyên district and Ứng Hòa district to the south, HàÃÂông district to the north.
The district is subdivided to 21 commune-level subdivisions, including the township of Kim Bài (district capital) and the rural communes of BÃÂch Hòa, Bình Minh, Cao Dðáng, Cao Viên, Cá»± Khê, Dân Hòa, ÃÂá» ÃÂá»Âng, Há»Âng Dðáng, Kim An, Kim Thð, Liên Châu, Mỹ Hðng, Phðáng Trung, Tam Hðng, Tân ïá»Âc, Thanh Cao, Thanh Mai, Thanh Thùy, Thanh VÃÂn, Xuân Dðáng.
The village of ïá»Âc Lá» in Tân ïá»Âc commune is famous for its chả lụa.
