It is bordered by Kita-ku and Hamakita-ku in Hamamatsu, the cities of Shimada and Iwata and towns of Mori and Kawanehon in Shizuoka, Shishiro, Tà Âei and Toyone in Aichi Prefecture and Iida and Tenryà « in Nagano Prefecture.
