Temporary Presidential Council

The Temporary Presidential Council or also known as Presidential Council is a body which does need to arrange for a new President to be elected within a maximum period of fifty days, before the establishment of the office of the first vice president, the council deputised the duties of the president when the office is vacant, due the person leaving the office, death or other things in which the president doesn't have the ability for his duties. One source however say's that during the second council the prime minister took over the duties of the president.

Members

In the case of the third Council, it consisted the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, the Chief Justice, and the first deputy of the President, which is the first vice president who becomes acting president afte Article 131, however if the President does not have a first deputy, the Supreme Leader shall appoint another person in his place, during the first and second council the office of the first vice president wasn't established yet, in this two cases it was the prime minister who was the third person.
