Teliu (; ) is a commune in BraÃÂov County, Transylvania, Romania. It is composed of a single village, Teliu.
The commune is located in the eastern part of the county, on the banks of the river Teliu. It lies on the border with Covasna County, at a distance of from the city of SÃÂcele and from the county seat, BraÃÂov. Teliu is traversed by the National Road DN10, which connects it to HÃÂrman commune to the west and the town of ÃÂntorsura BuzÃÂului to the east.
There is also a railroad that links BraÃÂov and ÃÂntorsura BuzÃÂului which goes through the that crosses the . With a length of , this is the longest railway tunnel in Romania.
At the 2011 census, Teliu had 4,198 inhabitants, of which 57.7% were Romanians, 22.2% Hungarians, and 19.1% Roma. At the 2021 census, the commune had a population of 4,468; of those, 50,98% were Romanians, 30.66% Roma, and 14.01% Hungarians.
