Tau Eridani (ÃÂ Eridani, ÃÂ Eri) is a group of fairly widely scattered stars in the constellation Eridanus.
Because of the large separation of the stars, sometimes they were not designated like above. For example, in LacailleâÂÂs catalogue, ÃÂ6 was designated n, ÃÂ6 was designated n, ÃÂ7 was designated m, and ÃÂ9 was designated k. In BodeâÂÂs catalog, only ÃÂ1 and 2 were designated Tau. ÃÂ3 was designated E, ÃÂ4 was designated j, ÃÂ5 was designated t, ÃÂ6,7 were designated m, and ÃÂ8,9 was designated l. These designations were not withheld and reverted to the chain of Tau stars. All of them were member of asterism 天è (TiÃÂn Yuàn), Celestial Meadows, Hairy Head mansion .
