Tapeinia is a monotypic genus of flowering plants in the family Iridaceae. The genus name is derived from the Greek word tapeinos, meaning "low". The single species, Tapeinia pumila, is native to Southern Chile (from AraucanÃÂa to Magallanes regions) and Argentina.
