Sweethearts and Wives is a 1951 British television play starring Kay Kendall. The role, along with that in another play, The River, helped Kendall revive her career after the failure of London Town.
The Evening Standard called it "a rollicking bit of naval nonsense" praising in particular Kendall "whose beauty enriched the occasion." The following month the same paper claimed Kendall was "unknown to viewers" until she appeared in the play "now she has big fan mail, promises of more parts." This led to a role in Lady Godiva Rides Again which reignited her film career.
