Sông Cầu

SÃÂ´ng CÃ¡ÂºÂ§u is a town (thÃ¡Â»Â xÃÂ£) of PhÃÂº YÃÂªn province in the South Central Coast region of Vietnam.

After the Vietnam War, SÃÂ´ng CÃ¡ÂºÂ§u was merged into ÃÂÃ¡Â»Âng XuÃÂ¢n District in 1976. The latter was then combined with Tuy An District to become XuÃÂ¢n An District in March 1977, but XuÃÂ¢n An was soon split again into the two previous districts in September 1978. SÃÂ´ng CÃ¡ÂºÂ§u Township was the seat for those districts. On 27 June 1985, SÃÂ´ng CÃ¡ÂºÂ§u District was split from ÃÂÃ¡Â»Âng XuÃÂ¢n District. On 28 August 2009, SÃÂ´ng CÃ¡ÂºÂ§u District was upgraded to town status.

SÃÂ´ng CÃ¡ÂºÂ§u is subdivided into 4 wards (phÃÂ°Ã¡Â»Âng): XuÃÂ¢n YÃÂªn, XuÃÂ¢n PhÃÂº, XuÃÂ¢n ThÃÂ nh and XuÃÂ¢n ÃÂÃÂ i, and 10 communes (xÃÂ£): XuÃÂ¢n ThÃ¡Â»Â 1, XuÃÂ¢n ThÃ¡Â»Â 2, XuÃÂ¢n LÃÂ¢m, XuÃÂ¢n PhÃÂ°ÃÂ¡ng, XuÃÂ¢n ThÃ¡Â»Ânh, XuÃÂ¢n CÃ¡ÂºÂ£nh, XuÃÂ¢n HoÃÂ , XuÃÂ¢n BÃÂ¬nh, XuÃÂ¢n LÃ¡Â»Âc and XuÃÂ¢n HÃ¡ÂºÂ£i. At the time of establishment (2009) it had a population of 101,521 and covered an area of . The local government's offices are located in XuÃÂ¢n PhÃÂº Ward.
