Shelly Johnson (cinematographer)

Shelly Johnson ASC (born April 28, 1960) is an American cinematographer, known for his collaboration with director Joe Johnston.

Early life and education

Johnson grew up in Pasadena, California, where he attended Blair High School and graduated from Pasadena's Art Center College of Design in 1980.

Career

He worked on many TV movies like ', in which he was nominated for an ASC award, before landing his first major motion picture with '.

Johnson began his collaboration with Joe Johnston with the third installment of the Jurassic Park franchise.

Johnson has been a member of the American Society of Cinematographers since 2000. In May 2023, he was elected President of the Society.
