Dharmakërtià Ârë (Tibetan: Serlingpa; ; , literally "from Suvarnadvëpa"), also known as KulÃÂnta and Suvará¹Âadvipi Dharmakërti, was a renowned 10th century Buddhist teacher. His name refers to the region he lived, somewhere in Lower Burma, the Malay Peninsula or Sumatra.
Dharmakërtià Ârë was the teacher of a number of important late Mahayana Buddhist thinkers, including RatnÃÂkaraà ÂÃÂnti (fl. c. 970âÂÂ1045), Atià Âa, JñÃÂnaà Ârëmitra and Ratnakërti (both fl. late 10âÂÂearly 11th c.).
Dharmakërtià Ârë is the author of the DurbodhÃÂlokà(Light on the Hard-to-Illuminate), a sub-commentary to the AbhisamayÃÂlaá¹ÂkÃÂra-à ÂÃÂstra-vá¹Âtti of Haribhadra. A Sanskrit manuscript of this work was discovered in the 20th century at Sakya Monastery.
