Say You Do (Ultra song)

"Say You Do" is the debut single by British group Ultra. It was released on 6 April 1998 on CD single in the United Kingdom through East West Records as the first single from their debut album, Ultra (1999). The music video was directed by Katie Bell.

Critical reception

Music Week wrote that the group was debuting in a market already saturated with boy bands, and its proposal—closer in energy to Five than to E-Male—would not be enough to secure distinction. The review argued that the chorus lacked impact and that the track, overall, failed to develop musically, undermining its commercial potential.

The Birmingham Mail described the song as a predictable and bland boy-band effort, noting that this was disappointing given that other tracks by the group suggested a more mature direction influenced by 1980s acts such as Duran Duran.

Commercial performance

"Say You Do" debuted and peaked at number 11 in the United Kingdom. It spent 10 weeks in the top 100.
