Based on a 1983 Philippine film of the same title, the series is the eleventh instalment of Sine Novela. Directed by Maryo J. de los Reyes, it stars Yasmien Kurdi. It premiered on November 10, 2008 on the network's Dramarama sa Hapon line up. The series concluded on February 27, 2009 with a total of 80 episodes.
According to AGB Nielsen Philippines' Mega Manila household television ratings, the pilot episode of earned a 22.3% rating. The final episode scored a 23.4% rating.
