Saadullah Khan (military officer)

Saadullah Khan () was an officer of Pakistan Army, who participated in the Indo-Pakistani war of 1971. He is known for being the Commanding Officer of 27 Infantry Brigade during Operation Cactus Lily. For his contribution, he was awarded the Hilal-i-Jur'at.

Early life and education

Khan was born at Sargodha in 1926. He completed his education from Government College Faisalabad and Government College Sargodha. As a student, he was actively involved in the Pakistan Movement.

Military career

Khan was commissioned in the 2/16 Punjab Regiment via 3rd PMA Long Course. He was awarded the Sword of Honour for his overall best performance in the course.

In June 1970, Khan was appointed as Colonel Staff of 14th Division, a key appointment in the Eastern Command. During the 1970 Bhola cyclone, he visited various places along with a handful of officers and NCOs, in order to distribute the relief item to the locals thereby helping the local administration to rehabilitate the affected people. For his contributions, he was awarded Sitara-e-Khidmat.
