Rui Machida (çºç°ç å¯; born 8 March 1993) is a Japanese basketball player who plays for the Fujitsu Red Wave of the Women's Japan Basketball League (WJBL). She represented Japan in the women's tournament at the 2016 Summer Olympics and at the women's tournament at the 2020 Summer Olympics, winning a silver medal.
At the 2020 Summer Olympics, she set an Olympic record with 18 assists in Japan's 87âÂÂ71 semifinals win against France.
She participated at the 2015 FIBA WomenâÂÂs Asia Cup, 2017 WomenâÂÂs Asia Cup, and 2019 WomenâÂÂs Asia Cup.
