Roppolo is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Biella in the Piedmont region of north-western Italy. It is located about northeast of Turin and about south of Biella.
The municipality lies on the southern slopes of the Ivrea glacial ridge, west of Lake of Viverone. Roppolo borders the following municipalities: Alice Castello, CavagliÃÂ, Cerrione, Dorzano, Salussola, Viverone, and Zimone.
The settlement is first mentioned in a document dating from 936 AD. It is home to Roppolo Castle, a fortified structure largely built during the 14th century. The local economy is based primarily on agriculture, particularly wine production and the cultivation of kiwifruit.
