Pulok Kumar Mukherjee is an Indian scientist and associate professor of the School of Natural Product Studies in Jadavpur University located at Kolkata State in India. He is also an associate editor of Journal of Ethnopharmacology. He previously held director positions at Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development, Institute of Life Sciences, India, an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology.
Mukherjee obtained a PhD and Masters in Pharmacy from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He then attended the Leiden/Amsterdam Center for Drug Research in the Netherlands as a postdoctoral researcher.
Mukherjee is a former president of the International Society for Ethnopharmacology, and a founding member of the Society for Ethnopharmacology, India.
Mukherjee's work focuses on traditional medicine, particularly the development of drugs from Indian medicinal plants.
