Prunus wilsonii () is a species of Prunus native to southeast China, preferring to grow at 950âÂÂ2500m. It is a deciduous tree reaching a height of 10âÂÂ30m.
Wood from Prunus wilsonii was used to carve the Shakyamuni (Shaka Nyorai) (æ¨é éÂÂ迦å¦ÂæÂ¥ç«ÂÃ¥ÂÂ; mokuzà  shaka nyorai ryà «zà Â), a copy of the lost Udayana Buddha by the Chinese sculptors (and brothers) ZhÃÂng YánjiÃÂo and ZhÃÂng YánxÃÂ. It was brought to Japan from China in 986 by the monk Chà Ânen (å¥Âç¶). The sculpture stands tall and is a National Treasure of Japan.
