was a short-lived political party in Meiji period Japan.
The Shimpotà  was founded by à Âkuma Shigenobu in March 1896, as a merger of the Rikken Kaishintà  and minor political parties to offset a temporary alliance between à Âkuma's rival, Ità  Hirobumi and the Liberal Party of Japan (Jiyutà Â).
In June 1898, the Shimpotà  merged with the Jiyutà  to form the Kenseità Â.
