Primordial Soup is a creative studio founded by filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, dedicated to storytelling innovation, integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the filmmaking process.
In May 2025, Primordial Soup was unveiled during GoogleâÂÂs annual developer conference, Google I/O, as part of a strategic partnership with Google DeepMind to explore the use of generative AI in storytelling. The company also entered into a collaboration with Google DeepMind to refine the technology companyâÂÂs generative AI video model, including Veo.
Primordial Soup's first announced project was ANCESTRA, a short film by director Eliza McNitt, which blended live-action performance with AI-generated visuals. The film premiered at the Tribeca Festival on June 13, 2025.
