Praia Pesqueira is a seaside village in Caué District on São Tomé Island in São Tomé and PrÃÂncipe. Its population is 201 (2012 census). The locality is located just south of Dona Augusta and 5 km southwest of São João dos Angolares.
Praia Pesqueira directly borders the Atlantic Ocean to the east, forming part of the Island's eastern coastline, which spans about 209 km in total for the archipelago. The terrain features a narrow coastal plain displaying black sandy beaches backed by low cliffs and platforms shaped by marine erosion. Environmental features highlight the area's vulnerability to coastal erosion, evident in waterfalls like Cascata de Praia.
The surrounding region is a hotspot for biodiversity, part of the Cameroon Volcanic Line, supporting high endemism in flora, with over 100 endemic plant species that have adapted to the volcanic soils and rainforest ecosystem.
