The Poonch Division () is a first-order administrative division of the PakistaniâÂÂadministered territory of Azad Kashmir in the disputed Kashmir. It comprises the portion of the former Poonch Jagir of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir that came under Pakistani control at the end of the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947.
Gujjar is a major ethnic in Poonch division and they up roughly 7% of the total population of the division, with a population of 89,805. Other ethnic groups found in the division are Sayeds, Rajgan, Sudhan, Mughal, Qureshi and Hashmi.
Pahari and Gujari are two major languages spoken in Poonch division. Other languages also spoken in the division include Kashmiri, Punjabi, Dogri, Hindko, and Urdu.
