Phước Long province

PhÃÂ°Ã¡Â»Âc Long is a former province of Southeast region of Vietnam. It was established on 22 October 1956 by a presidential decree. It was one of South Vietnam's 22 provinces. It is now part of BÃÂ¬nh PhÃÂ°Ã¡Â»Âc province. The province was originally into three districts: PhÃÂ°Ã¡Â»Âc BÃÂ¬nh, BÃÂ¹ ÃÂÃ¡Â»Âp, and PhÃÂ°Ã¡Â»Âc HÃÂ²a. In 1961, it was reorganized as four districts: BÃ¡Â»Â ÃÂÃ¡Â»Â©c, PhÃÂ°Ã¡Â»Âc BÃÂ¬nh, ÃÂÃ¡Â»Â©c Phong and ÃÂÃÂ´n LuÃÂ¢n. The administrative center was in PhÃÂ°Ã¡Â»Âc BÃÂ¬nh.

History

On 23 January 1959, part of PhÃÂ°Ã¡Â»Âc Long province was divided to form PhÃÂ°Ã¡Â»Âc ThÃÂ nh province.
On 24 July 1961, PhÃÂ°Ã¡Â»Âc HÃÂ²a District was dissolved.
In 1976 PhÃÂ°Ã¡Â»Âc Long province was merged with BÃÂ¬nh DÃÂ°ÃÂ¡ng province and BÃÂ¬nh Long province to form the new SÃÂ´ng BÃÂ© province.
