Obruby is a municipality and village in Mladá Boleslav District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 300 inhabitants.
The name was derived from the old Czech word obrub, which can be translated as 'border', 'edge' or 'wall'.
Obruby is located about east of Mladá Boleslav and northeast of Prague. It lies in the JiÃÂÃÂn Uplands. The highest point is at above sea level. The stream Pà Âepeà Âský potok flows through the municipality.
The first written mention of Obruby is from 1408.
The I/16 road (the section from Mladá Boleslav to JiÃÂÃÂn) passes through the municipality.
Obruby is poor in monuments. The only protected cultural monument is a rural homestead from the end of the 18th century.
