Nikolai Mikhailovich Tarabukin (; 25 August 1889 â 21 February 1956) was an art theoretician active in the Soviet Union. He was one of major theorists of Proletkult.
Tarabukin's first book was ÃÂÿÃÂàÃÂõþÃÂøø öøòþÿøÃÂø (A study in painting theory) which although started in 1916 was not published until 1923. He was influenced by influence of Heinrich Wölfflin.
Although he disavowed Constructivism, he nevertheless helped explain their ideas through such essays as ÃÂàüþûÃÂñõÃÂÃÂð ú üðÃÂøýõ (From Easel to Machine) published in 1922.
