Thiranagama, in the southwestern Galle District of Sri Lanka, is known as the upscale area of the large Hikkaduwa region, featuring its only 5-star hotels (Haritha Villas, Riff Hotel).
Thiranagama is located by the Indian Ocean, north of Galle and south of Colombo.
To the north, Thiranagama is bordered by Narigama, a residential neighborhood on the southern boundary of Hikkaduwa town.
Administratively, the area known as Thiranagama East falls within the Katukoliha electoral ward.
To the south, Thiranagama extends to Patuwatha, a beachfront area stretching towards Dodanduwa.

The 43rd station of the Coastal Line is Thiranagama railway station.
The Coastal Line links Colombo to Matara.
The station is located from Colombo station. Nine trains stop there daily.
