Muricanthus is a genus of sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Muricidae, the murex snails or rock snails.
The name Muricanthus was previously considered a synonym of Hexaplex (Muricanthus) <small>Swainson, 1840</small> represented as Hexaplex <small>Perry, 1810</small>
