Mountain IronâÂÂBuhl School District (ISDâ¯712) is a public school district in St. Louis County, Minnesota. It was formed in 1992 through the consolidation of the Mountain Iron and Buhl school districts. The district operates one KâÂÂ12 campus in Mountain Iron.
The superintendent is Dr. Reggie Engebritson. In January 2025, the school board voted to implement a four-day instructional week beginning in the 2025âÂÂ26 school year.
In 2023, the district reported a four-year graduation rate above 90%. High school students may enroll in college-level courses through a partnership with Mesabi Range College.
The district operates a single school building that includes separate elementary, middle, and high school areas. Shared facilities include a gymnasium, media center, and outdoor athletic fields.
