The river partially forms the historical border between Moravia and Silesia. Apart from the outskirts of the city of Opava, the river does not flow through any large settlement; the largest town directly on the river is Bà ÂidliÃÂná. The river flows through the municipal territories of Malá Morávka, DolnàMoravice, Malá à  táhle, Velká à  táhle, Bà ÂidliÃÂná, Valà ¡ov, Nová Pláà Â, Roudno, Leskovec nad MoravicÃÂ, BÃÂlÃÂice, Jakartovice, Kruà ¾berk, Staré TÃÂchanovice, Moravice, MelÃÂ, VÃÂtkov, Radkov, Hradec nad MoravicÃÂ, Branka u Opavy and Opava.
