Mullah Mohammad Abbas Akhund () is an Afghan Taliban politician who is serving as Acting Minister of Disaster Management of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan since 23 November 2021. Abbas has also served as Minister of Public Health in the Taliban's previous regime (1996âÂÂ2001). He is an ethnic Pashtun and belongs to the Achakzai tribe from Spin Boldak district, Kandahar province. He was born in Khas Uruzgan District, Uruzgan Province.
