Ministry of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills

The Ministry of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills is the ministerial department of the government of Morocco responsible for the preparation and implementation of public policy in the fields of employment, economic inclusion, small business development, and vocational training.

The ministry is involved in the development of national strategies related to employment, the promotion of entrepreneurship, and support for very small, small and medium-sized enterprises (TPME). It also contributes to the regulation of the labour market and to aligning skills with the needs of the economy.

Since 7 October 2021, the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills has been Younes Sekkouri.

Responsibilities

The ministry is responsible for designing and implementing government policy in the areas within its remit. Its main responsibilities include:

  • the development and implementation of public policies in the field of employment and professional integration;
  • the promotion of economic inclusion, particularly for young people and vulnerable populations;
  • the development and support of very small, small and medium-sized enterprises;
  • the regulation and monitoring of the labour market;
  • the definition and implementation of policies related to vocational training and skills development;
  • Coordination with public and private stakeholders involved in employment and entrepreneurship.

Organisation

The ministry is supported by a central administration as well as decentralized services responsible for implementing public policies at the territorial level. It also works in coordination with several public institutions and bodies involved in employment, vocational training, and skills development.
