Miguel Ferreira Pinto and Pedro Ferreira Pinto known also as the Iron Brothers, were born in Portugal and participate in triathlons and Iron man competitions while encouraging equal opportunities in sports for people with disabilities. The brother gained national and international fame, as the two competed in long distance triathlon events, including Ironman competitions, despite Pedro Ferreira Pinto having cerebral palsy. In 2022 in Hamburg, Germany, they participated in the Iron Man competition, making a world record, as they became the first duo outside the US to finish a race.
Miguel and Pedro were born in Portugal two years apart. Pedro was born prematurely at 6 months into the pregnancy. His first few months were spent in an incubator, and brain damage was inevitable. Despite Pedro's disability, the two brothers did everything together. Miguel Ferreira Pinto that was an endurance athlete and personal trainer, took on his brother dream, and together they began to train for triathlons. They participated in several races, as their project became known as Iron Brothers, a partnership designed to show that athletes with disabilities can participate in extreme sporting events with appropriate support and adaptive equipment.
In triathlon competitions, the brothers compete as a team using specially adapted equipment. By adopting this format, the duo managed to participate in several long distance triathlon events. During races:

As their reputation grew as the Iron Brothers, Miguel and Pedro, used their name to raise awareness to Cerebral Palsy and disability inclusion. They have supported initiatives connected with organizations such as the Cerebral Palsy Association of Lisbon, helping promote visibility for people with disabilities and encouraging accessible sport participation.
