Metehan Yaprak (born 1 January 2003) is a Turkish freestyle wrestler competing in the 79 kg weight class. He represents Ankara ASKð Sports Club and the Turkish national team.
In 2023, Yaprak became the European U20 Champion in Santiago, defeating Georgian wrestler Saba Kobakhidze 10âÂÂ0 in the final. The same year, he won a bronze medal at the 2023 U20 World Wrestling Championships held in Amman, Jordan. He also placed seventh at the 2023 U23 World Wrestling Championships in the 74 kg category.
In 2024, Yaprak competed at both the U20 and U23 European Championships, earning a bronze medal in the 74 kg category at the 2024 European U23 Wrestling Championships in Baku.
In 2025, Yaprak claimed another bronze medal at the 2025 European U23 Wrestling Championships in Tirana in the 79 kg category. In June 2025, he finished third at the 2025 Yaà Âar DoÃÂu Tournament in Kocaeli. Later that year, at the 2025 U23 World Wrestling Championships in Novi Sad, Serbia, Yaprak advanced to the final and won the silver medal in the 79 kg category. He defeated SerbiaâÂÂs Andrija Ivanovic 10âÂÂ0 by technical superiority in just 65 seconds in the first round, then overcame Pan-American champion Geannis Garzon Tamayo of Cuba 10âÂÂ8 to reach the quarterfinals. He went on to defeat Hayk Papikyan of Armenia 3âÂÂ1 and Belarusian individual neutral athlete Nikita Dmitriyevs Mayeuski 5âÂÂ2 in the semifinals, before losing to American Levi Haines, the 2025 World Championships silver medalist, in the final match.
