Menesia Muinjo

Menesia Muinjo is a Namibian journalist, broadcaster, and media executive who was appointed director-general of the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) in 2026. In January 2026, Muinjo was elected to the board of the Public Media Alliance, an international association of public service media organisations.

Editorial role and career

Before her appointment as director-general, Muinjo served as the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation's chief of news and programming. In that role, she was associated with editorial and programming decisions at NBC. In 2018, Namibian Sun reported on her comments about audience demand and programming strategy in connection with proposals for a 24-hour news channel.

In 2023, The Namibian quoted Muinjo on the use of artificial intelligence in Namibian newsrooms, identifying her as NBC's chief news and programming officer. In January 2026, she was elected to the board of the Public Media Alliance, an international association of public service media organisations.

In 2025, New Era described Muinjo as a veteran journalist in reporting on her recollections of covering the presidency of Sam Nujoma.

Director-general of NBC

On 20 March 2026, the NBC board announced Muinjo's appointment as director-general, effective 1 April 2026, for a five-year term. Her election to the board of the Public Media Alliance preceded her appointment as director-general.
