Melisa C. Michaels (May 31, 1946 â August 30, 2019) was an American science fiction and mystery author. Her novel Skirmish was nominated for a Locus Award for Best First Novel in 1986. An active member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA), she served on the Nebula Awards jury three times, in 1996, 1997 and 2002. In 2008, she received a SFWA Service Award.
