Matas Maldeikis (born ) is a Lithuanian politician and public policy commentator, a Member of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania (terms 2020âÂÂ2024 and 2024âÂÂ2028), and a member of the Homeland UnionâÂÂLithuanian Christian Democrats. While serving on the Seimas, Maldeikis chaired the Lithuanian Parliamentary Group for Relations with Taiwan.
In 2002, he completed a BachelorâÂÂs degree in Political Science at Vytautas Magnus University. In the 2020 parliamentary elections, he was elected to the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania. In the public sphere, he comments on geopolitics, LithuaniaâÂÂs national interests, foreign policy, ChinaâÂÂs geopolitical and economic threats, and human rights. He is one of the most active commentators on artificial intelligence policy issues in Lithuania.
Since 2017, he has written commentaries for LRT.lt on European Union and foreign policy topics. On social media, he publishes analytical texts on geopolitics, international relations, and technology policy.
